From the moment you embark the Sea plane that takes you to Orpheus Island, you feel very very special,After a magical scenic flight you are met by the resorts managers Araon and Bridget, who make you very welcome from the onset, however I have to say the stunning scenery and Crystal clear waters, teeming with Fish around the Resort, tend to get most of the... more

I stayed at the Orpheus during my honeymoon from Jan. 1 – Jan. 8th 2009. We arrived on a sea plane from Townsville. From the moment we landed, we felt as if we were in paradise. Bridget and Aaron Murphy who run the resort with a small staff take care of everything. We arrived mid-afternoon and after a short introduction... more

We had such an good experience last year at Orpheus with our extended family, that we thought we would try Christmas and 2009 New Year's by ourselves. And we were rewarded with another great stay. This small resort is very well managed by the team of Bridget and Aaron Murphy who continue to have a great team supporting them. Since... more

Since our first visit in 2006, we have been dying to get back to Orpheus and the wait was well worth it! When we arrived, we were greeted like old friends by Bridget and Aaron (managers). Once again, the attention to detail was amazing - they even had what we like and don't like to eat on file from our... more

Although this resort has impeccable service and wonderfully friendly staff, I am not sure how it has received such high marks. The food was excellent, with lunch a 3 course meal and dinner a 2 hour sometimes exhausting 7 course degustation menu. The resort itself is on beautiful grounds with a spectacular view. And life here is peaceful and uninterrupted.... more

Wonderful staff who maintain the resort very well, and go out of their way to be helpful. Fabulous food. Coffee/tea is complimentary but all other drinks are extra. The little fridge in the lounge stocked with fruit/juice/bite sized nibblies is fantastic. The gourmet pinic hamper with seafood is fabulous. Dining on the pier is very romantic. The rooms are very... more

It’s been a rough transition back into the old swing of things after our recent trip to Orpheus Island. This time last week my husband and I were aboard a seaplane having just touched down on the turquoise waters of Hazard Bay. Shortly thereafter, we were informed that we would be the only occupants at the resort for the duration... more

Eight out of nine days of perfect sunshine and weather would spoil even the other Charles – Prince that is. From the time the seaplane landed, we were pampered and pleased beyond expectations. Imagining in a world of glitz and glam that the understated presentation of a resort service still exists, it is hard to believe, yet Orpheus Island is... more

We've been to Lizard Island 5 or 6 times but recently have been disappointed with the resort being overfull and too 'corporate', having lost its friendly touch. We decided to go to Orpheus this time for a change and were not disappointed. The managers, a friendly husband and wife team, are competent, upbeat and very hands-on. All the staff are... more

We stayed at Orpheus Island for three nights in May 2007. If you want to truly get away, this is a completely secluded resort in a gorgeous location. The staff was wonderful ---friendly without being overly chatty, never stuffy or overbearing --- with anything you need easily accessible or already there. We were one of only four couples, so we... more
