Spent one night at The Rocks as a stop over on route to Airlie beach. This is a restored Victorian house, having been bought by the present owners nine years ago. The house is located at the top of a very steep hill, making the walk into town a journey that needs consideration. We were met by our host who showed us an outside Spa. This was full of leaves and other tropical debris. The advertised Internet facility was 'not available', stated that they were going to go wireless at some later date. The room booked was quite pleasent but at $115 it should have been. The hosts have family time after six pm and we next saw them at breakfast. This was a very basic affair and they needed to be asked to top up various items finished by other guests. Perhaps this seems petty but this was an example of the overall feeling of indifference to guests. Clearly people who had bought a dream house and had to put up with guests to pay for it, or perhaps i caught them on a bad day!
