I was recommended Annie's Place by a backpacker in Darwin, and I'm so glad I stayed there. I was there for 6 days and had the most amazing time, the staff are all so friendly - and the built in bar in the courtyard definitely gives the place a sociable atmosphere. 10 out of 10 for friendly hostel staff and good value daily excursions/hostel meals offered but this place needs a good clean. The daily cleaning is not done by proper cleaners but backpackers getting free bed and board, who use washing up liquid and cold water. We stayed for 6 nights in a double room. The room was a former dorm room so was quite spacious. The bed was two single matresses put together on a king size frame. So that was fine.
