Stayed in waterview rooms which have been recently up-dated and were very comfortable. Much better than I expected. Modern bathrooms, kitchenette, roomy, LCD TV. Staff friendly. Pelican feeding every morning just across the road. Wallaby spotting at night. Food in restaurant good, we have an Accor card so got a 50% discount on adult meals. We had a car so didn't feel isolated but you have to travel quite a bit to see most places on the island. American River is a quite settlement, there is a general shop, post office but not much more, enjoy the nature and tranquility. Overall I recommend this place in the context that there is not a large amount of hotel accommodation to choose from on KI. more
