Located an easy 15 minute walk down hill to the Waterfront and night-life, my partner and I enjoyed our stay here very much. The street is quiet and the public lounge is a wonderful place to sit and rest after a big day out on the town. Will definitely try and stay here again the next time we pass through... More

We felt very welcome here. We parked our motorbike in the garage and walked through a secluded garden that just beckoned you to sit awhile. Our room was well appointed with large windows fitted with sound and weather proofing screens. We walked to the docks for dinner and were glad to be staying out of the hubbub of that area.... More

Graeme and Lynette, the owners, made us feel very welcome. We had a great room with a canopy bed, with spa, antique furniture and balcony. The guest lounge was great, with tea and coffee, port and chocolates to be enjoyed any time of day. The breakfast room had lots to choose from - bread, muffins, crumpets (yummy!), cereal, fresh fruit,... More

From Hobart international airport the trip to the Lodge was $48 by taxi (who wasn't doing the speed limit due to chatting). You can also get a shuttle from the airport to the city for $20 per person. The Lodge is an $8 taxi ride from The Waterfront (really nice restaurant precinct) or 15 minute walk down hill (Elizabeth is... More

My room had windows and a little balcony with a view of the beautiful garden and was very quiet. It was quite spacious and immaculately clean. The best experience was the owners' hospitality. They helped me book a very cheap rental car which I wouldn't have found on my own, they told me how to find the tourist attractions of... More

We stayed thre nights in the convict cottage including Christmas Day and had a fabulous stay. The little touches mean so much, like chocolates and bubbles on arrival! The location means that you are within 10 minutes walk of the centre of Hobart. Our rooms reminded you of home and not a hermetically sealed hotel room with impersonal service. Cannot fault... More

We stayed here in 2011 and it seemed a great place to have our daughter and her bridesmaids stay the night before the wedding. What a professional attitude! The only place in Hobart to allow us a late checkout without a ridiculous fee. Gorgeous setting for the pre-wedding photos. Totally engaged with the experience. Lynette was amazing with helping us... Whilst I’d describe The Lodge on Elizabeth more as ’funky’ than ’fabulous’, it is certainly a bargain, and a very pleasant place to stay. The heritage building is decorated in an appealingly ‘old-time’ style, and the living room with port and cupcakes on the house is both unusual and very welcoming for tired travellers. The rooms are comfortably furnished, and... More

Graeme and Lynette made us feel very welcome on our recent stay at The Lodge on Elizabeth. We had a lovely room with spa, lots of fresh towels and a very comfy bed. The guest lounge was great, with tea and coffee making facilities, freshly baked afternoon tea, port and chocolates to be enjoyed any time of day. It was... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights and it was beautiful. I would much rather stay here than at a motel. The furnishings are elegant and the atmosphere is welcoming. I would stay here again any time. Very romantic!
