Like many others, iif I had read what I have found here i would never have parted with my $200 for one of the worst '5 star' hotels I have ever stayed in. So where to begin? The filthy windows? The mould on the bottom of the pool? The dirty walls and lack of proper linen? The symphony of shower... more

I have joined the ranks of other reviewers who failed to read reviews of this hotel before committing to handing over too much money for unpleasant stay at the Adlephi. I concur with all the previous reviewers and stress to my fellow travellers to avoid this place. But I'll add 2 things. 1. Right from stepping into the place, it's... more

We spent 3 nights at the Adelphi for our wedding stay in Melbourne, and should have read reviews before we booked. The place is ridiculously OVERPRICED. Aside from one staff member, the rest were completely UNHELPFUL, bordering RUDE. There is no porter, no parking, no views & windows cannot be opened. The place is also noisy - I was awoken... more

I have done over 20 nights at the Adelphi in the past year after having stayed at a variety of Melbourne hotels and I think it sets the benchmark for a business hotel in Australia. I will admit that reception can sometimes be a little disorganised, but always friendly and are quick to learn your name, room preferences and who... more

I have been staying at the Adelphi for over 7 years. Despite having stayed in most the hotels in Melbourne I still keep coming back to this one. If you want a small modern hotel with all the facilities but with an edge to it and you don't want to be over pampered then this is the place for you.... more

My partner had always wanted to stay here, so when I checked with a friend who used to work there, she warned me saying it was full of knock-off designer furniture and it was shabby as all hell. We booked anyway - the location is fabulous, and, according to Whotif, we were getting a $400 premier room from $195-$250 per... more

If I had known about the reviews on this site I would of not booked a weekend at this overpriced wannabe boutique hotel. but for the fact both my wife and I had such a bad time there I felt it appropriate to seek out and inform others just how bad it is and not to even bother booking a... more

I had wanted to try out the Adelphi for quite some time but baulked at the hefty prices compared to many other hotels in Melbourne. So for a special occasion I booked into a twin room for one night. Upon arrival the receptionist told me that I would be staying in a queen room with a rollaway as they had... more

My husband made the reservation at this hotel based on some reviews he read, plus he pointed out that since it was listed as "very expensive" it must be nice, right? So we get in the cab at the airport, the cabbie has never heard of it. We find the address, maneuver around some back streets and find it in... more

We had been staying in the Hilton which is old and worn to the edge and needed an escape. Luckily the Adelphi where on hand to help. The location is great, the rooms are modern and from what I can tell have been converted to rooms from being offices, which has been done very well. whilst being a 5 star... more
