I stayed at the Citigate end of the Sebel Albert park. While it was not the only consideration, I chose it partly because it advertised in-room broadband. When I arrived the cabling was wrongly connected (in a spaghetti like jumble behind the TV). When I got a connection I had to ring the outsourced IT provider for a password and... more

I stayed at the Sebel Albert Park as part of a conference package. The room was a good size but had no view to speak of (well except for our neighbours in the adjoining hotel). The room service menu is terrible and the food even worse - don't try even if desperate. Order Pizza Hut delivery for those late night... more

We recently stayed at the Sebel Park Melbourne, in room 7501. We were very disappointed with our stay. We are not usually people who complain, however we were put in a room RIGHT next door to the elevators. In a normal hotel this would not have been an issue, however the elevators (which continue to run 24 hours) were extremely... more

My other half and I decided to stay at the Citigate on Albert Park to be closer to an important event. We expected to be able to sleep later and be more refreshed for the challenging event. Special Parking arrangements that had been requested over the net were honoured upon our arrival. The restaurant and room service were very convenient... more

We stayed four nights at the Sebel Albert Park (also known to many as Citigate--reflecting an adjacent property which has been merged and connected.) Our choice was guided by a conference held on site. Having read earlier reviews, I confess I did not expect much, but in fact found the staff to be extraordinarily friendly and responsive, and our room--one... more

Booked the stay at 16.00 on wotif as a secret hotel and arrived an hour later-the choice to stay somewhere was spontaneous and was a great decision. The room was pretty standard but the bathroom was huge! After arriving late we decided to stay in and ordered a seafood platter to the room-it was huge and way too much for... more

After its recent facelift and rooms refurbishment, the Citigate wing is touted as the 3.5 star brand from Mirvac. Previously a hideous motel wing, the new version is totally revamped, fresh and definitely very white with neat black carpet and matching bland modern furnishings. Whilst the rooms are fair sized and bathrooms neat (not totally refurbished), one stands the risk... more

Rooms noisy, unclean and a comedy of errors when asked to correct these things. They know there is a noise problem in rooms adjoining function areas - partitions moved in the middle of the night - and actually have earplugs to counteract this. Perhaps they would do best to stock these in affected rooms rather than waiting for a flood... more

Stayed the weekend for a mentoring conference in the same Hotel. Avoid the restuarant, overpriced, bad service, food average, a big group of us ate mainly at the rosco's@chevron just a short walk 14/519 st kilda road, which was absolutely fantastic. I don't stay at hotels much, so is it me or do they try and charge you for everything?... more

I've stayed many times at the Sebel Albert Park, as well as the Citigate section, before and after renovation. I make my reservation using wotif and for the price I think it's good value. There are many better hotels in Melbourne (the Sebel is on St Kilda Road) but you pay a premium for them. The Sebel suits my purpose... more
