My partner and I decided to spend a night at the Grand Hyatt before travelling to the outer Melbourne suburbs to stay with family. We decided to splash out for a bit of a romantic night out having had great experiences at the other Grand Hyatts in Asia. Though it would be going to far to say I was disappointed... more

I stayed in this hotel for one night only in June during a brief stop-over in Melbourne. Service was efficient and friendly, room was well appointed and bed was so comfortable that I almost missed check out (11am) the following morning. Excellent location near designer boutiques in the 'paris' end of town, definetely going back when I return to Melbourne.... more

This is our third stay at the property under the AMEX FHR program (and our first since the renovation to the public space)....and I must say, our stay was simply fantastic! The newly renovated public space and the new bar/restaurant were simply stunning. The long island ice tea at the RU-CO bar was to die for! We were upgraded to... more

even though we were promised a room upgrade by the hotel agent before we checked in, the receptionist got into an argument at the time of check in.. We were promised a champagne bottle and cake but had to ask for this 3 times.. the lobby entrance was a complete mess!! 24$ for parking for hotel guests also!! more

For Business the Grand Hyatt Melbourne is perfect; located in the 'Paris end' of Melbourne city on Collins Street. Walking distance to any region of the CBD. I required a central hotel will a certain elegance to entertain clients in the bar and restaurant. The setting was perfect to impress your client or partner etc. I stayed in a regular... more

I remember staying at this hotel years ago on my corporate rate and feeling as if it needed quite a bit of work done ... well they have. The new lobby, restaurant and bar are stunning and finally equal to that of the Grand Hyatt's in Asia, the staff are so friendly and customer focused I actually felt "special" staying... more

We stayed at this hotel and arrived at about 1am. The check-in was promt, but the floor we stayed had a school group, yes, a school group at a 5 star hotel. The kids were very noisy and running on the floor, talking and laughing loud. We asked the reception to change our room, but they could not, only because... more

I usually stay at the Park Hyatt in Melbourne but had to go to its sibling the Grand Hyatt due to availability. The new upgraded lobby is stunning. Unfortunately, it does not feel like the upgrading has applied to the rooms. They are very small rooms with dated furnishings. The one thing that really annoyed me about this place though... more

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne when attending a conference at the venue in May 09. This review is limited to my experiences as a business traveler and conference attendee. The most vivid memory of my three day stay at the hotel was the excellent service standards of the staff. Every person I came into contact with was helpful,... more
