I love the Windsor. Usually when its a family weekend we stay at Rydges. (Never again) For my husband and I we stay at The Windsor. After a horrible 2 days at Rydges with the girls (teens) I couldn't stand it anymore and switched to The Windsor. We stayed in a lovely junior suite. Walking back into The Windsor was... more

We booked a deluxe king room which should have been overlooking the Parliament house. 3 nights Saturday to Tuesday, it was my dream to stay there and I had just come out of hospital from pnemonia and heart failure. We were told we had been updated to a suite. Dont fall for this, we were under the airconditioning unit making... more

I managed to score some $10 airline tickets to Melbourne, so we thought we'd go for a night and stay to watch the Australian Open Tennis. As it was peak season, there were hardly any rooms left in Melbourne and we struggled to find anywhere under $300 per night. I booked a "mystery room" for $300 on last minute, and... more

My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Windsor for 4 nights, as an anniversary present to eachother !! Having booked a budget room online, we were worried we'd be in 'the dog box' .. but were delighted at the small, yet ample, room we got. It was really fantastic! We did not have much of a view, but did... more

The Hotel Windsor was sensational. We stayed in a superior room with a fantastic view of Parliament Building. We stayed for 3 nights and the quality of the accommodation enhanced our visit. The guys at the concierge desk were fun and informative. The front desk people were helpful. The staff were always appraochable and smiling. Our room was a lovely... more

The exterior and lobby look so grand, shame about the decor of the rooms. Royal blue and yellow flowered carpet is just wrong and ruins from the grand feeling of the hotel. As the titel suggests, the beds were to comfy, I want a bed like that in my house. I contacted the hotel to ask about the beds, so... more

We had one night at The Windosr recently as part of a wekeend break in Melbourne. We timed our arrival to perfectly coincide with a massive protest on the steps on Parliament House which added a bit of colour and excitement. The hotel is an old classic, a real taste of Europe in Aus. I had booked a deluxe room... more

This is a grand hotel in European style. Unfortunately it was stuffy in more ways than one. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, but the overall ambience was very old fashioned. dining service was slow and the room was just too small and toohot to be confortable in. The great feature of this hotel is the afternoon tea,... more

I wasn't fussed on this hotel. Marble bathrooms & yearly murder mysteries carried out in the historic hotel surrounds didn't make up for a gloomy, claustrophobic sense in the dull boxy room. I was quite disappointed in the value, even though there was nothing wrong with it per say. more

We had High Tea at The Windsor Hotel last Saturday for a hen's day and it was a really wonderful day! When I was first told it would cost me $65 I had very high expectations and The Windsor certainly lived up to them!! They served us plenty of scones (including choc chip ones!!) and pastries and ribbon sandwiches..and then... more
