was a great location v. near the train station, which takes about 10 mintues to get into the CBD. Be prepared, our room was very small, but is fine if you do not intend to spend much time in it. A free basic breakfast was nice and staff are friendlly. more

For budget accommodation we were very happy with the Claremont, the best point was the location, South Yarra was delightful and we actually preferred it over Melbourne CBD with it's numerous restaurant's and shops. A lovely guesthouse in South Yarra, 10 mins on the tram from Melbourne city centre. Clean, comfortable room with tv and bunkbeds, complimentary b/fast, bathroom on same corridor was very clean. Not overall impressed with this place. Location was great, only 2 minutes from the train station so able to access Melbourne quickly. However this was the only plus!
