We spent a week at the Jasper Hotel earlier this year and it was quite nice. We'd booked it all over the internet - liked the prices compared to other hotels in the area. Plus, they often run good deals. The location is great - literally next door to the famous Queen Victoria Markets - great food hall, great shopping!... more

I was lucky enought to get a stay 3 pay 2 rate when i booked through virgin blue holidays. this made the hotel a bargain. Their normal price is a bit much for what you get. I like that you needed a card to access the lift. Room was quite large and clean. There's a minibar and tea / coffee... more

Stayed for 3 nights as a walk-in guest in single room at A$129@ on Wed, Thurs and A$149 on Fri, all breakfast exclusive . So, the price is not cheap. Sat is even more expensive at about A$170 thus I had moved to somewhere else. I like the room inside. It's spacious, modern, clean, well equipped with toiletries (except toothbrush... more

The Jasper is a bit far from the hub of Melbourne but close to the markets. The styling is funky and looks like they are going in the right direction while the rooms still need a good revamp especially for the price you are paying. There are much better quality hotels in the same price range. Don't book here if... more

I have now stayed twice at the Jasper both times in the Executive Room for several nights. The rooms are very modern and the Executive Room is very spacious with a decent sized desk. The room offers wireless Internet, which I prefer. Also the bathroom is huge and the products are very nice - no need to bring your own... more

Since I've had some bad experiences with on line booking websites in the past I always now book directly with the hotels. The lady who took my reservation was very personable and was equally knowledgably about Melbourne even offered to make some enquiries about car hire for us. Even better, it turns out that the Jasper Hotel is about a... more

2008 marked a significant achievement for me with the completion of my Masters degree. The graduation was in November and I travelled with Hamilton to Melbourne for the graduation. I had booked the Jasper Hotel as I had previously stayed there when it was the Hotel Y and had thought that it was a good location at reasonable rates. Even... more

Jasper hotel have spent quite a bit of money on their website and brochures to make this 'boutique' hotel look very modern. However when you arrive there you realise the photos have been elongated to make the rooms appear a lot larger than they actually are and have been taken with the right lighting to hide the lack of attention... more

We stayed here at the end of a trip that started out in Singapore (the fabulous Shangri-La), a short stay at the Citigate Melbourne (excellent location) and some time with friends and travelling around the Melbourne area, staying in a number of other locations. By the time we stayed here on our last night in this beautiful city we had... more
