Took the recommendations of fellow T.A. travelers when searching for a reasonably-priced spot over a long weekend in Melbourne. No surprizes...exactly what prior travelers had described. The rooms are small but clean, comfortable and well appointed. The location is a bit on the "seedy" side near the Southern Cross railway station and adjoins numerous low-cost spots for youthful backpackers. A... more
I stayed 2 nights in Ibis Little Bourke St in May 2008 on a business trip. I was pleased with the friendly staff in the hotel as well as the clean and comfortable room. The room had a iron & ironing board, coffee maker, hairdryer, big plush towels, flat screen TV, fridge - too much for an Ibis actually. The... more
Hotel Ibis Little Bourke Street is located at the western end of Little Bourke Street, making it a great location with Spencer Street Station and the DFO across the road. It’s a great little hotel, value for money, clean and well presented rooms and a super buffet breakfast for $16 (can be even cheaper if you take a breakfast inclusive... more
I had a nice week-long stay here for a conference across town. Well priced, clean rooms, air con, helpful staff, excellent (if v expensive) breakfast; but you can book a room without including the latter. Functional, modern furnishings with a usable fitted desk and a comfortable bed. The location was just fine, very close to the station and only a... more
This hotel is straight across the road from the Southern Cross train/coach station so is very convenient for arrival/departure. All the members of staff in the breakfast room & reception were most pleasant. The rooms are fine & include plasma TV, Kettle, clock/radio, fridge. The bathroom is well equipped except that the bathtub is a little small. There is coin... more
My sister and I stayed at the Ibis, Little Bourke Street, Melbourne for two nights. On arrival, the young man at reception was very pleasant and welcoming. We had booked a standard room on the internet and due to a little problem with the swipe card we were unable to enter our room. The young man graciously upgraded us at... more
Excellent Hotel if you just need to put your head down for the night. Probably best for short stays as rooms a little small. Very close to Telstra Dome so great place to stay overnight after watching the footy. Easy walk to Bus Station and Casino. more
We stayed here for 3 days in May and chose this hotel because it was so close to the terminus for the airport shuttle bus. We thought it was a great hotel, and very good value for money. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with the usual facilities although space was limited. The gym on the top floor gave great views... more
Stayed here for 6 nights after reading reviews here and its locality on map. Ok so the surrounding area is a bit suspect, NOT a problem at all during my stay. Very handy for Southern Cross station & tram stops on Spencer St <2min stroll, getting me anywhere I wanted to get to. Melbourne is laid out very well so... more
