I stayed here as it is opposite a conference centre, where I was attending a course. Whilst the staff were friendly the room was dirty, very basic ammenities. I was woken up regularly through the night, and would not recommend this for lone female travellers. I stayed her with my son for a night. It is a basic, clean motel located in the 'backyard' of a large pub in a drab part of Melbourne. Matthew Flinders "Hotel" is actually a MOTEL. The attitude of staff was appauling. Staff said that you would hear cars leaving up until 3am as there is a club nearby. But they did not state that you would be able to HEAR the music PUMPING when you're in the "hotel" room, and have people screaming and shouting until 4am. The... more
