The hotel is old, the rooms are very out dated and the breakfast was terrible. Other than that it was fair. Location must be the best thing about this hotel. It is more like a backpackers with private rooms. There was a spa and a laundry on our floor but you would not catch me dead in the spa. If... more

This was our first hotel on a 22 day tour and it was disappointing. The hotel looked old from the outside and inside was no better. The whole place is tired but the staff were helpful. Its a 40 min walk to the restaurant area in Northbridge and there are no views of the river from the hotel. We would not... more

Hi, just thought I'd spare others.. So i stayed at the Perth Ambassador last night payed $140 or so..... which I think should mean you get a pretty nice CLEAN place right? Not the case! Spent some time in the room, took a shower, lifted up the sheat covers to find a huge blood stain on the sheets. The nasty... more

The elevator still wasnt fixed near end of January. Booked there because everywhere else was booked for Australia Day. Is budget, should be 2 not 3 star. For a few more $ could get alot better room. Several problems, refurbishment ongoing, so noisy during day, spa out of action, none of this was advised when we booked, no reduction, still... more

When we arrived, the front desk was discussing what to do about the people who were trapped in an elevator. Apparently the elevator technician wasn't available on weekends; they were discussing whether to call the fire department to rescue the people. The duty manager was chatting with the folk in the elevator on the emergency elevator phone, telling them that... more

Just came back from 5 days stay. A bit surprised by the negative comments and glad that I ignored them. I didn't use the room service and my stay excluded breakfast. For a 3+ star hotel, it is ok. The room, the lobby and the waiting area are spacious. The room is well-equiped. The locality is good, safe and quiet... more

We stayed here a few days ago, for a week. Hotel was above our expectations, with daily housekeeping. Breakfast ends a bit early though at 9am on weekdays and 10am on weekends. And somehow the pastries are the same every other day but the Hot Chocolate was good, though its from the machine. Throughout our stay there, we went for... more

I booked through the hotel's own website, as it offered a better deal than many of the popular discount websites. Ended up with an "Executive Suite", which had a big lounge area with couch, table, chairs, work desk and TV... a separate bedroom the same size as the lounge... a big bathroom... and even something of a dressing area with... more

Sure it's old and unexciting, but free wired internet access in the rooms and free breakfast, this hotel is great value. Breakfast ends annoyingly early (9am weekdays, 10am weekends), but it's really quite good. The staff are pleasant and they don't race to remove all the food on the dot of 9am either, like some hotels. One suggestion: Get the... more
