If you have to go to Fremantle ... and let's face it, it is the most interesting part of Perth (which can be a bit monotonous with its pastiche suburbia) ... then the Esplanade is the ONLY place where you can check in and have a full service hotel experience. OK, so it isn't 5-star ... but it is a... more

I had stayed at this hotel 10 years ago-and it was clean, neat and reasonably priced. But my last visit saw tired rooms, curtains falling off their tracks....poor overall maintenance and for the price paid, very poor service. Door staff very sloppy in their approach and casual, expensive beverages, average food and a room rate far in excess of good value.... more

There is no better place to stay as far as location is concerned. Prices are bit over the top for what is on offer but being the most central hotel they seem to get away with that. Service was ok, the guy at check-in was a bit dump and took nearly 20 minutes until we got the keys but the... more

My daughter booked a suite (201) for 2 nights for her wedding about 9 months before the big day. She asked to view the suites (2 months ago) and was sent photos and decided that she would prefer the lighter, brighter room on 301. This was confirmed 3 times (my daughter wanted to make sure) the last being a week... more

Stayed here on a business trip.. For the price we pay (AUD220 per night), it's way too average! A very basic minimal hotel! Internet is chargeable but we couldn't download our office mails due to the firewall! Facebook is inaccessible as well! Duh! Breakfast is not included and for the price of AUD32+, the spread is definitely not worth it! more

Generally not a bad hotel although some of its fittings are a little dated and have seen some wear and tear. The main problem I found was that the rooms are average size withquite average fittings so it tends to give one the impresssion of a basic accomadation venue, however this is NOT reflected in the hotel pricing structure. I... more

Stayed here for 4 nights at the start of a trip to Western Australia and again for a night at the end. From outside it is one of those typical Aus. hotels seen in so many towns in WA. It is wonderful that they have been preserved. Also has newer wings built on. Lobby area is spacious and the atrium... more

This hotel has a great location and I would stay again. They were very good with us and our young family. However there are a couple of points which I think are disappointing. The poolside rooms are overlooked by a 4 story noisy carpark. Unfortunate for the hotel because I'm sure they were there decades before the carpark. Secondly the... more

The overwhelming feature of the Esplanade is its location. In the local area, within a 10 minute walk, are numerous pubs, bars, nightclubs, restaurants, fast-food outlets, museums, public transport, the marina, the beach, tour operators, small grocery stores and really everything most tourists could ever want. If you are visiting Perth or Fremantle for a leisure trip, I don't know... more
