The staff are nice enough but very young and don't seem to understand that people come there to a hostel to sleep. Although the common area was located on the ground floor, there was a second hang out area with a couch, right next to my room on the second floor. The hardwood floors made people's voices much louder and echo throughout the entire floor. Around midnight each night, I have to come out of my room in my pijamas and ask large groups of people to keep it down. As soon as they would leave, another group would come to hang out and drink beer. Maybe if you are 18, this Monday night sleep interruption could be cool, but I only had 1 chance to see Auckland and this hostel stay definitely made my trip more exhausting than it should have been.
