We had stayed in th Sydney mercure the few days before...so we were not expecting much!! However MUCH nicer....small but modern....our room was big, modern, high ceilings. Great location, the snacks at the bar were yummy. more

In general, this hotel was average. The location was good if you want to be near the harbor and in the heart of Auckland's downtown area. We stayed at both Mercure hotels in Auckland and this hotel is worse than the other Mercure. The location is excellent, at walking distance to the main Auckland attractions (tower, waterfront, etc) right at downtown. The hotel rooms are pretty small, the largest bed for a couple is a queen bed (no kink available) or you take 2 full beds.... more

dont know where people got the noise from the night club. When we were there, there was none! Only Queen Street and we knew about that. Otherwise perfect stay, very central and affordable.. more

After reading other reviews, now i get what the music thumping noise was! We were on 5th floor, fortunately, so nightclub noise wasn't too bad. Also didn't stay over weekend. Our room was kind of funky, needed a facelift, clean/new carpet but it wasn't scary. Tiny kitchenette was fine and helpful for in-room breakfast, for example. Refurbishment would really help.... more
