We stayed in one of the private en-suite units. The location is very good, close to train station, bus stations, supermarket and shopping centre. The hostel is clean and basic. The only one and very important thing for us was missing - a good night sleep. I didn't sleep at all due to the noise from the doors shutting outside... more

this hostel was pretty good, and did what had what we wanted when it came to our gap year travels. the rooms were clean and the shared bathroom facilities were also clean and cleaned everyday. the kitchen was quite small, but fairly clean and the bar was good, with free meal (see it as a free snack and you wont... more

With a central location just off queen street we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at nomads fusion in central auckland. Enquired about a triple en suite and was informed that many of the 'double' or 'twin' rooms actually have a double bed on the bottom bunk and a single at the top so easily fit three in the room, a little... more

Like the other reviews say--its SO NOISY! Esp on the wknds. I stayed here recently (couple wks ago) on a Fri nite and could not sleep at all cuz of the bars outside. I was miserable. And the room has no circulation and it was so stuffy. But, it is clean and in good central area. I stayed again on... more

A bar on the first floor keeps you up all night. Would only recomment to young groups looking for cheap drinks, free dinner and not having to walk back home from the pub. Otherwise, stay clear. On the plus side, good central location, rooms are good sized and clean, with underbed storage you can lock. more

Stayed in a twin ensuite room - it was absolutely tiny but to be expected. It was very clean on arrival but the lack of A/C made for either a slightly claustrophobic evening or the odd sounds of Auckland floating through the window. Its a great place to crash, walking distance to SkyTower, the airport bus and the ferry terminal,... more

We stayed in Base for four nights while in Auckland in an ensuite double which was decent value. The room was basic but very clean and the bathroom was small but adaquate. The hostel has a great central location and the reception staff were helpful. The rooms are secure and you need your keycard to enter your floor as well... more

Great location in the CBD, double room with ensuite was an amazing value for what you get. Clean room and linen. Never used the kitchen facilities but looked nice. more

If you are on a tight budget this hotel offers good price for the location in the middle of the city. There is no parking lot and you have to pay or, as we did, park on the street for free but it is a fair walk from the hotel (we found a place about 20-30 min walk away). The... more
