Having been staying at City Lodge for years now I'm slightly reluctant to share this brilliant secret. It's everything a regular business traveller could want (in fact any traveller who does not want to pay a king's ransom for accommodation): centrally located, friendly, safe, spotlessly clean, well-appointed rooms and yes, great value! In my experience you could pay a whole... More

Good but basic accommodation in Auckland, good facilities for cooking, laundry. if you want to explore Auckland it is in an ideal location. Short free bus ride available nearby to downtown, but very easy to walk. use this a initial base as we did and see more of NZ. If you are gay there are bars/sauna nearby,do a bit of research. More

I stayed for one night in a single room in August 2011. I found overall, the stay to be good. The pros and cons: Pros - good location, short walk to the city, close to food places and K-Road. The room was small but had everything I needed and was well thought out. Bed was comfy and the bedroom was... More

Hi and thank you for placing your review. I am glad to hear you see City Lodge is good Value for money but your comments regarding the staff are concerning to me. We aim to provide our guests the highest standard of customer service, we offer in-depth local knowledge of Auckland and should be advising our guests of the services... More

I stayed at City Lodge for a week, and was disappointed. I would advise that for not much more, you can stay in a serviced apartment! The rooms were very noisy at night, with people meeting up outside throughout the night, leading to a lot of drunken screaming. The windows do not seem to be double glazed, which makes the... More

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you do not believe we are value for money, however thank you for your positive remarks about the high standard of cleanliness and great staff. I am unsure how you booked your accommodation at City Lodge but we often have special deals on our website at different times throughout the year. We... More

The rooms were pretty small, but there was enough space for our stuff, and thats all we needed! The lodge is a bit out of the noise and busy-ness of the city, which is always nice. More

LOVE this place! We needed somewhere to stay for a lengthly period - and this is where we found, quite by accident. Each room has own fridge - what a luxury - plus a TV and ensuite. We have travelled around Australia and NZ and have only ever found 2 other places with rooms as imaculate as this. Staff on... More

If you decided just to have a place for shower and sleep, city lodge offers one of the best. They may not have the beautiful exterior or the myriads of facilities but they offer warmth and cozyness in their room. It may be small but why do you need such a big space when you are suppose to be out... More

New, clean, friendly staff, fully equipped kitchen for self-catering, within walking distance to harbour and city centre, wifi – everything during our 3-days-stay was great (apart from the horrible bed where you can feel every spring in the mattress). More

I stayed here for a couple of weeks when I first arrived in Auckland and I would recommend it. It's in a great location, minutes walk from Queen St. and K Road. The staff were all very friendly. This hostel-hotel is incredibly hot at night and you have to leave the windows open in order to try and be cool enough to sleep. However, on both nights we stayed the road was very noisy with drunks shouting and trucks passing etc. so we moved to a different place. The bathrooms are also very small. It´s a bit of... More
