In short,
things I liked:
- great location - in between AUT and Uni of Auckland; 3 min walk to CBD (Crn Wellesley and Queen St)
- doors that can be opened by swipe cards
things I don't like:
- it is not a hotel - somewhere in between a youth hostel, student accommodation and serviced apartment (sorry, I am referring to the bad things about these types of accom); I mean 1) you don't have your own kitchen; you have a crappy microwave in your room which doesn't really do the job; not all the stoves were working at the common kitchen 2) there is only a very small common room with a plasma TV (which is a plus) but there is no culture - unlike other youth hostels
- I stayed for four nights and I found quite some unwelcomed insects
- my room was quite small
- though the receptionist was nice and helpful, their opening hours are limited to 10-6pm.
Conclusion: if you still choose to stay because of the great location and the relatively cheaper...
