This place was mentioned favourable in the Lonely Planet and so we decided to stay there after a dip in the Morere Hot Pools (highly recommended). We were also highly in favour of supporting independent establishments (versus chain motels). Unfortunately, in this case, we ended up with a terrible night. We have a motor home and the establishment only had four power sites, which isn’t a problem except that three of the power sites were not providing any power. We finally found the one that was working and plugged ourselves in. Unfortunately, this power socket tripped on us (at 6.20pm) and we were left without power. The office was closed (the office closes at 6pm) and there were no signs telling us where to look for the management after office hours. Having paid $30 for the night (when most other places charge $24), we were obviously not happy that we didn’t get any power.
