I recently stayed at this motel, located at the southern end of Gladstone Road, Gisborne’s main street. It's a modern, standard-construction single-level New Zealand motel: units set out in an L-shape; set slightly back from the road, with parking outside your unit door. On arrival, reception was efficient - you’ll get the usual small bottle of milk when you arrive, and will be offered a morning newspaper (use to be std; now rarer at motels).

We stayed in the generously-proportioned Unit 4: A two-bedroom, one bathroom unit. It's the largest offered by the motel. Unit clean and well-kept. Fitting in the maximum 8 people might be a squeeze – (one queen-sized bed; two singles; and two double sofa beds). Unit better suited for two adults and two- three children, I would say -especially as there is only one bathroom.
