What a beautiful house! Right by the riverside with an easy pleasant walk into town. We felt very pampered, the bedroom was very light and airy with a very comfortable bed, an excellent cooked breakfast, lovely outside area to sit by the pool. Paul is a very congenial, helpful host. All in all the best stay in our tour of... More

The pictures do not do the house justice; it was just beautiful. The house was very clean, spacious, comfortable and Paul cooked up a wonderful breakfast. We spent 3 nights at Te Kura and it was great. A nice short walk along the river got you to downtown for dinner and shopping. Paul was helpful in planning our day trips... More

Although this was a working holiday (moving ageing parents to a retirement unit) and very little time to relax, Paul and Bronwyn made us so welcome! Nothing was too much trouble! The exquisitely presented 1920s house is beautifully furnished, set in a lovely quiet location and close to town. The cooked breakfast was scrumptious. Can't wait to return next year!

The house is a very well built and finished 1920s riverside building on a very quiet residential road. Parking is off street in the large driveway and being just off Route 35 it's also very easy to drive to. The location couldn't be better as it has a nice view of the river, is very peaceful and yet within a... More

Paul is an excellent host and his home a mansion! The house is in a beautiful position just a few minutes walk along the river from the town centre. We were given a wing of the house and one of the beautiful reception rooms downstairs where we relaxed in the evening, reading and doing emails.Paul pays attention to detail by... More

A unique house, the workmanship is 1st class. The wood lined walls, hallway and stairs greet you as you enter ( like a movie set ) I was continually amazed at the craftsmanship, how the windows opened. The leaded windows even inside the house and beautiful wood surrounds on the round windows. You will be lucky to see craftsmanship like this, in this day... More

After a wonderful 5 day holiday around the East Cape we stayed at Te Kura for a one night stay before heading off to Mahia. The homestead is very close to Gisborne and very much reminded my husband of his old family home in the UK. We had our own wing with tea and coffee making facilities, separte bathroom with... More

First off must say a big thank you to Paul and Bronwyn as we turned up to Te Kura on the wrong day. We had actually booked ourselves for the next day. However the hosts were great and quickly made up the other room in the house as the other one was already booked out. Basically saving our bacon. The... More

We love Gisborne and this year we stayed overnight at Te Kura, a spacious 'arts and craft' inspired family home with a glorious pool overlooking the river. The city centre is a short stroll away. Our very spacious room upstairs was beautiful and comfortable but, as we had been warned by the owners, at a distance from our own bathroom... More
