We had been using this motel on and off for several years as part of a sports group, but hadn't really looked at it too closely, as they always gave us a good group rate. However, this time there were just two of us and it was a cold wet wintery afternoon when we arrived.

Reception was extremely efficient and friendly, (I had pre-booked via their website and that worked very well) and we just had a basic room with no kitchen facilities. Tea and coffee making was OK, with plunger as well as instant coffee and a fridge. The room was rather dull and initially cold, with an oil filled radiator for warmth.

Large bath with shower over, but a very tired bathroom otherwise. Bed was comfortable and fortunately with electric blankets. Sky TV was OK, but with limited channels.

In the past , we have rather enjoyed the heated indoor pool, but we just couldn't be bothered to brave the elements, even though we were fairly close. A spa pool would have been better on... more
