The smell was what hit me first. The non smoking room smelt like smoke and when the window was opened the smell of the rubbish trucks in the carpark was unberrible. The breakfast was stale and the shower had no volume control, it just shot full strength across the bath and flooded the room. more

I wouldn't stay here again - it is very dated and desperately in need of a refurb. on the upside, the shower was hilarious - very powerful - the water shot straight across the whole length of the bath and ran down the wall opposite, then down the side of the bath onto the floor where it kind of flooded.... more

We booked 2 x 2 bedrroms to accommodate 2 families of 6. Not only is this one of the oldest motels we have seen, but inside it was even worse. This is a fairly typical NZ motor inn: concrete block construction, shabby decor (big hole in the carpet next to the bed), nylon sheets and coverlet, spongy mattress. Stayed in this property with 3 children as it was one of the few we could find that had a room sleeping up to 6 people plus a kitchenette.
