Five minutes walk to New Zealand's oldest winery (Mission Estate) where we had an excellent lunch and from the Church Road winery. Easy 10 minutes drive to downtown. Very comfortable and spacious ensuite bedroom with direct access to a large patio, gazebo and lovely garden. Our host runs small group winery tours. Also provides a fine breakfast. more

heading for Napier over its' Annual Art Deco Weekend we stopped in at the Information Centre in LakeTaupo to book accommodation ahead and they pointed us in the direction of Robert's Cottage a B&B just outside Napier as all Hotels/motels there were full. We were actually introduced to Robert's Cottage by another B&B Owner who put us in contact with Robert and we were incredibly impressed! The house was immaculate, very tastefully decorated and has beautiful views of the back garden and park. My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful 2-night stay with Robert. The cottage (modernised and very well appointed house) is located in a quiet area of Napier 10 min from the city centre and a within shouting distance of wineries.
