We stayed here for 2 nights in December 2008 in a private double room with shared bathroom facilities. The accommodation is in a fantastic central location with the i-Site, town centre and beach only a few minutes away by foot. Facilities for backpackers are ideal; laundry, tv lounge, large kitchen, internet access, towels and bed linen provided. On the down side, our room was at the front of the accommodation so we were very aware of noise from the street and front porch. Also there is only one ladies loo and one for gents plus two unisex shower cubicles for the whole place, which was full when we were there. We planned a day at Ocean Beach on our penultimate day but unfortunately it was raining so we decided to check out a day early to visit friends in Gisborne. There was no problem with this and we weren't even charged for the final night.
Whilst in Napier we strongly recommend Grape Escape full day wine tour, a trip to Te Mata Peak for stunning views of Hawke' s Bay...
