Having travelled round both the North and South Island you soon learn that all motels are pretty much the same in terms of what you get for your dollar i.e. a bed, kitchen, and a bathroom. A basic motel that was clean and tidy but lacking character. The rooms were nice and had a small kitchenette but the fittings were dated. It was a long walk (20 mins) to the centre. The staff (the owners I assume) were helpful and supplied breakfast on a tray (cold breakfasts the night before and cooked breakfasts in the morning).... more
