We chose to stay at Wallys for our Soccer girls Tournament week. This was definitely a very good decision. Ashley bent over backwards to help and support our team. To the point of going out and purchasing new dishes so the girls could eat. Whilst I was pulling my hair out, the Wallys team took it in their stride with... more

I had a great time here, meeting some lovely people. Good location and great value. For me it felt like a home away from home. The kitchen was spotless, but could do with some more plates etc. Also my mattress was pretty thin. But overall, good stay. more

We arrived late in the afternoon in the shoulder season and our specific needs were accommodated cheerfully by the operator. We needed one room with ensuite for grandpa, another twin with ensuite for the teenage girls and a double for ourselves. The kitchen was a hive of acivity around meal times but appeared to work well and accommodate everyones needs,... more

I stayed for one night at Wally's. It's in a great spot - near the city center but out of the way and quiet. The house itself is full of charm too. The dorm I was in was for 8 people. It was rather roomy as far as dorms go, but the bed was not very comfortable and the sheets... more

We arrived at Wally's to be told that our room, which we reserved the previous week - was INTENTIONALLY given away. Yes, you read that right, intentionally. I've traveled to 18 countries and I've NEVER had that happen to me! As we attempted to understand the situation from the owners point-of-view (we were beside ourselves with anger) he said, 'Look... more

. Our single bed consisted of two thin mattresses laid on to the floor. The bed was therefore rather uncomfortable. We noticed in the room opposite there was just one single mattress on the floor. Maybe we should have been grateful for two of the mattresses as one would have been very uncomfortable! In every other hostel I have visited... more

We had booked to stay in a double room and ended up with a room with a queen size bed and 2 sets of double bunks in it. Fine. On our second night there, we returned late at night to find the door unlocked, the light switch on and the mattresses had been removed from the bunks. No previous warning... more

My wife, daugher and myself stayed one night a Wally's in April 2008 during a months holiday of New Zealand and Australia. We found the hostel to be clean and very well run with friendly staff, the owner even booked a wine tasting trip for us at short notice. We would have loved to stay for more than one night,... more

Very homely, cottage-style backpackers. It feels like your staying in someone's home. Quiet location, excellent facilities, lots of room in the bedrooms - I highly recommend it! My husband and I had a very peaceful, relaxing stay here. The kitchen and dining room are just gorgeous! Great value for money - stay here instead of a hotel. more
