The look of this hotel can be deceiving. You first think that it will be a motel and then maybe a bit like a fifties holiday camp in the UK. We stayed here for two nights as part of a Bay of Islands coach tour. It was OK for us, we were opposite the reception area and had no worries with noise. The location was good for walking around the small town. more

We stayed at the kingsgate in september 2006. Our room was on the groundfloor, next to the stairs and entrance to the restaurant. The corridors are badly designed, with a loud echo.
