We stayed here for a night in March 2009 and as there was 5 of us we stayed in their Executive suite (Honeymoon suite) and hated it. Very, very, shabby and old fashioned. We had a lovely two night stay here. Couldn't ask for a better location or a more welcoming host. There was a problem with our original booking so we were upgraded on our first night without fuss or concern. Spotlessly clean with a nice spa tub in which to relax at the end of the day. more

We were three couples travelling and found this place perfect. It's possible to have up to 5 bedrooms if required adjoining. Walking distance to everything! All activities can be arranged by Managers who are very helpful. more

We have stayed at many great accomondations during our time in NZ, but this is the best so far!! The staff is increadable helpful, the hotel is close to the town centre, but still off the main road which makes it quite and the rooms are perfectly clean. We would love to come back some day!! more

The rooms are large, have a loveseat, dining table and chairs, a little balcony with table and chairs, and a lovely view of the Bay of Islands. There is also a small kitchen which we used for breakfast...and Maureen and Phil used to leave little treats. They were so helpful in planning excursions and finding good restaurants. A real find! more

Loved our stay of 5 nights in the beautiful villiage of Paihia- so many hotel choices but very glad we stayed at the Swiss Chalet! The location was just a quick walk (3-4 min) to the center of this busy picturesque town. And since it was not in the middle of the hub-bub, it made for a pleasant and quiet... more

Three nights in the Swiss Chalet whilst touring the North Island. Paid extra for a family room which had good facilities and a private balcony with sea view. We stayed at the Swiss Chalet Motel in Paihia at the Bay of Islands and just walked in off the street, the Motel is spotless very clean and has nice fluffy towels. The owners were a delight and were more than happy to help. The location of the Motel is only a mere 3 mins walk to the town centre... more
