In short, this is an excellent place to stay. The owners are very relaxed, yet helpful. The food was very good (they have an in-house chef). It's pricey, but worth it. more

Hamurana Country Estate is a boutique hotel about 15 mins outside Rotorua. It has its own very good quality restaurant. We particularly enjoyed their own smoked venison.
