Walking distance to downtown area. We ate at something called the Crazy dog, I think. We could NOT smell the sulphur inside our hotel room, but of course you can smell it outside - a given if you choose to take in the wonder of the thermal fields! more

We drove into Rotorua without a hotel booked. We drove down the main strip, picked a sign that said it had a hot tub, booked a room. It was a very simple hotel, nothing special and definitely stunk like the town. But, it fulfilled our needs, with a bed and hot tub. Nothing more was needed. We stayed one night... more
