Got a 4 bed share. The room is nice and clean. The location is not so great, really far from the centre. One strange thing happened there, took a shower around midnight. All of the sudden, the lights went off then hair dryer was turned on. When I came out to turn the lights back on, no one was there.... More

We were really pleased initially when we booked in here as the staff are friendly, the rooms and public areas looked clean and the bike storage was great, but that's where it ended. Found the YHA in Rotorua a definite cut above most hostels. Purpose-built and well-run. Clean, efficient, and well-equipped. Predominantly young people, of course, but I (60+) didn't feel at all out of place.
