i stayed in taupo one night at base taupo and wish i couldve stayed more. the base was so close to the lake but also right near restaurants, bars. had lots of computers inside, modern hostel inside. small lounge, trendy. connected to bar/restaurant, lively and popular at night. service was nice, stayed in a 3 bunk girls room. i think there was a rooftop lounge too? didnt make it up there as was winter. more
