Heading into Taupo without a reservation. Found The Lake in Motels of NZ Guide. We had a lovely studio. Clean and modern. Free Internet access. As with almost all Motels in NZ we had a nice kitchenette with tea, coffee and milk provided. more

The Lake is a beautiful property several blocks from both the town of Taupo and the lake. Clean, spacious, comfortable room. Would be a great base for several days of activities at Taupo since the room has a fridge, kitchenette and dining area. Would definitely recommend. more

Stayed here 1 night visiting for a wedding in Taupo. Had studio room which was very clean, spacious and had all the mod cons - liked the fact they had free videos, something most properties dont even consider. Only issue was road noise - Mere Road appears to be a bypass for trucks avoiding Highway 1. So could not recommend... more
