Room was absolutely lovely. Clean, spacious and immaculate. Room had a breath taking view of Mt Ruapehu. Spa tub was great getting into after a long drive from Tauranga. Just got back. Taupo was a centre for day trips and the Motor Inn fitted the bill perfectly. It was clean, spacious, well equipped, the staff were helpful and friendly. As the previous post mentioned, the tap on the door in the morning followed by bacon and eggs being delivered was a very nice touch. Rates were very reasonable too. more

The Lake Taupo Motor Inn is not situated on the lake itself so don't expect spectacular views or an interesting setting. What you can expect however, is a level of accommodation which is far superior to the run of the mill motels which line the shore of the lake.
