We stayed at Above the Lake as part of our one month stay in New Zealand and our stay here was ne of the highlights. Angela could not have been more gracious and helpful. The accomodations were spacious and immaculate. Breakfast was a feast. We felt as if we were returning home each evening. more

It was amazing to meet Angela and Bruce. The room was very comfortable and well kept. We had a fantastic view. I would recommend everyone to stay here and if you do please go fishing. Though we did not catch anything, it was an amazing experience and just beautiful.. more

This was our first experience of a B&B. We usually stay at motels. I was a little apprehensive,but was put at ease the minute Angela opened the door. Clean, comfortable stay with lovely spacious rooms. Nice hosts and great food cooked by Angela. It didn't feel like the B&B business was Angela and Bruce's first love, so it lacked a bit of 'warmth' but we enjoyed our stay. more

Probably the least inspiring B&B we stayed in while traveling around NZ. The most off-putting thing was the masked smell of stale tobacco permeating both our room downstairs and, it seemed, the rest of the house. Nice hosts, but didn't make up for the rest. more
