went to book in ohakune for the saturday night for some snowboarding up the mountain but everywhere was booked out so stayed in turangi instead. was only $25 for the night for a room shared with 3 others. comunial shower and toilets. no one else turned up though so had the room to myself. had electric heater in room. has... more
Awesome spot to rest your feet after a long day hiking in Tongariro Park. We had a double ensuite room that was large and cozy. Our shower sprayed all over the bathroom floor but the only thing that went wrong. The communal space is large, clean, and everyone seemed friendly. There is even a climbing wall to play in. We only had a one night stopover here on our way to Auckland mid January 2007 but the accommodation was well managed, clean and functional. The communal kitchen and lounge were really great, with lots of cooking equipment and comfortable sitting areas. It is a good choice for walkers but we found that it was a nice place to stay... more
This is a brilliant place to stay if you want to do the Tongariro Crossing, go skiing in Winter or even go climbing on their climbing wall.
