We stayed in several hotels and apartment-hotels during an extended stay in Tauranga. The Beaumont was clearly the best. We stayed in a one-bedroom unit, which was a spacious apartment. It had a couch and two large chairs, plus a dining table and chairs. The kitchen was large and fully outfitted with cooking utensils, as you would expect from a nice rental house for a longer term stay. It had two televisions (flat screen), stereo system, DVD player, washer and dryer and a nice balcony with a great view of the beach. We payed $175 a night, comparable to the seasonal price of hotels in the area for a room half the price and one-third the quality.
The Beaumont is eight stories and about two hundred meters from both Mount Maurangi and the beach, with a dozen cafes and restaurants within the same distance. I would highly recommend this place over any hotel in the area, and it is far superior to Oceanside or the Atrium. more
