Rooms dated and dirty. Had to change rooms when first arrived as allocated room dirty and smelt bad. Woken every morning at 6 am by an alarm ringing in a nearby room, no soundproofing here. The hotel had good sized comfortable rooms, with off street parking. The hotel location was picked as it was within an easy walk of the Tauranga CBD (500m) and we felt safe returning to the hotel later during the night. The location of the hotel is excellent as it is very close to shops & restaurants in CBD. The receptionist is very helpful and friendly. However, the hotel is very tired.The owner/operator needs to refurbish the hotel immediately as there are a lot of choices within the area. more

The Armitage is in a very central location for the bar & restaurant quarter of Tauranga. The decor in the hotel is slightly dated but this does not detract from the cleanliness of the hotel or the friendliness of the staff. more
