We enjoyed our stay here for two nights, clean and well presented room, helpful staff and very convenient to the city, walk to Courtney Place food and night spots, competitive rates, just 10 min from the railway station, 15 min to inter island ferry, fire station next door did not bother us while there. very satisfied . more

This hotel is reasonable value because of its location which is close to restaurants, museum and the harbour. The room was clean, large and had excellent views of the city but was very dated especially the bathroom. The staff were very helpful and friendly but there was no wifi, just basic internet access in the foyer. more

I stayed here for two nights on two separate occasions, as part of a New Zealand group tour in October 2008. Definitely past its best – old-fashioned fittings, small bathroom, etc. The food wasn’t that bad considering (we had two breakfasts and two dinners there). The main advantage is that it’s within easy walking distance of the National Museum. more
