We booked this hotel because of its proximity to Wellington Railway Station, and it turned out to be within easy walking distance, although was a longish walk to the restaurant area and Te Papa. After reading conflicting reviews about whether or not there was a privacy blind for the opaque glass panel separating the ensuite from the bedroom we made... more

My first time at this hotel in Wellington and what a pleasant surprise it was. The location was great as it is close to all the major attractions. Check in staff went out of their way for us , we were a mixed bunch, my partner and I, my brother visiting from overseas who had never seen Wellington and my... more

We stayed there July 2007 originally because it had been booked for us as a conference venue, but it was so great, that we decided to stay on for the weekend. Great rooms, excellent food, good staff who were always helpful, polite and patient. The whole setting made for a great weekend, and we even went for a train ride... more

From the moment we arrived with our 2-and 5-year-old boys, we were made to feel welcome. Although I feel the Holiday Inn is business-oriented judging by the numbers of suits at breakfast and tea, the restaurant staff were fabulous with our kids - providing games and gentle reminders to stop swinging the interesting chain curtains. Well done! The view of... more

Booked for 3 nights at the Holiday Inn when we visited Wellington on a short holiday break. Location was good as it was near most of the museums, galleries and a number of cafes/restaurants. A cafe called the Astoria was particularly good. Booked on the hotel website and requested a twin room far from the lifts. We got a double... more

My sister and I and elderly mother stayed for 2 nights at the Holiday Inn after travelling from Auckland on the Overlander. It was very convenient to the station (round the corner) meaning we could easily walk there after arriving at 7:30 in the evening. The room had a good view and beautiful furnishings. We liked the glass partition as... more

The Holiday Inn, Wellington is ideally located in the centre of the city. Situated near the waterfront, it has magnificent panoramic views of the bay whilst being close to the city centre and the train station. The rooms are very comfortable with well designed contemporary furnishings. Room Service and Housekeeping I found to be excellent. Food in the main restaurant... more

Stayed here for a short weekend break in Wellington. Chose this Hotel as it was very new (still not finished completely in parts). Room was great. Decor, bed, pillows, chairs etc of a very high standard. The room was very aesthetically appealing. Loved the ottoman!! View was great over Wellington Harbour. We were on the 11th floor from memory. Amenities... more

My family and I stayed here recently during the Easter Holidays and I have to say that I am so glad that I chose the Holiday Inn. It makes a big difference to your holiday when you are staying in a nice, clean room. I like the fact that there is a small kitchen with a stove and microwave. I... more

The Wellington Holiday Inn is a very convenient hotel for both the waterfront and main attractions that the city has to offer. We booked a Superior King with Harbour View room (room 504) for 3 nights which was comfortable but had a limited view of the harbour because of the New Zealand post office building in front on one side.... more
