I booked this motor lodge primarily because it was close by where my mother lives in Wellington. With two adults and two tall teenagers, there wasn't room to stay at her house.

This motor lodge was the last of our trip and a disappointing finish. When I booked over the phone I was quoted $170NZ for a one bedroom, and $220NZ for a 2 bedroom. When we arrived we realized the one bedroom was going to be way too cramped. So my husband convinced me to upgrade to the 2 bedroom even though it was over my budget limit of $200 per night. Compared to other comparable motel rooms we stayed in other cities, the $220 was way overpriced.

The other reason he wanted to move from the one bedroom was it was painted a grayish purple, which made the room look depressing. It did not have adequate heating for a cold winter night, just a bar heater. The 2 bedroom had a better heater, so I agreed to move.
