We stayed in a Studio Room with a Queen and single bed. I slept on the single bed and had the most uncomfortable sleep ever. Turns out the mattress was a foam squab on a wooden base. Not fit for a dog. Breakfast provisions were nice - thanks. The neighbours must have been showering at the same time, as the... More

As with the other reviewers, a lovely location with wonderful views. We stayed in the cottage unit, so no issues with noise from other guests. Very basic, but it is in the middle of nowhere. We did a light plane joy-ride up into the mountains and got some great views of the valleys, lakes and small glaciers nearby.

We stayed here one night with a group. This is badly In need or updating but is a charming working sheep farm. There is a large kitchen and living room.. The rest of the house is divided into bedrooms that share baths. The shower barely worked upstairs. The bed was very comfortable some of the bedrooms had nice views picture... More

We loved this place... away from the rat race & sooooo peaceful. Stayed in the Studio Room and tit had everything we needed - a kitchenette & ensuite. Water pressure in the shower was fantastic. Sat on the deck with a wine and soaked up the sun & amazing view. Could have stayed another night but had glacier walks booked.... More

While the hosts were very friendly and accommodating, we felt that the charge of $120 per night was over the top for what the accommodation was. We had people staying in the room next to us and you could hear every step they took and everytime they used the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was very disappionting -... More

We stopped at the Makarora Homestead for 1 night and stayed in a cottage room. It was a very peaceful setting. The sheets were freshly laundered and smelled like the outdoors along with the wonderful pillows we slept like babies. There were no city lights to disrupt the viewing of the stars and we spent the entire night out on... More

We stayed for one night in a Homestead B&B room (vs. the studio or cottage room). Room was simple and small but clean and well-kept with window onto pasture. Didn't have en suite facilities, but shared bathroom was nice and clean. Large communal area with window seats for reading, foosball table for playing a friendly match or two. Nice kitchen... More
