Margaret and Peter Foster, our warm and friendly hosts, have created a memorable experience for anyone who enjoys stunning contemporary accomodation nestled within beautiful countryside.

Perched above the vinyards of Marlborough, the sheer beauty of Brancott Ridge's panoramic views takes your breath away. From the house it is possible to see the North Island across the sea, and on either side there are the dramatic Richmond and Wither Hills. In fact the view was so intoxicating that we found it very difficult to leave in the evening in order to visit one of the many superb restaurants attached to the vineyards nearby. Incidently, the host's recommendations for the best places to eat were accurate and helpful. The restaurant, Herzog, is a gastronomic triumph!

As for accomodation, everything spoke of quality. The bed was extremely comfortable, towel and robes plush, and shower powerful. The attention to detail is excellent. Two of the walls are floor to ceiling...

Only two guest rooms. Brand new, ultra modern, spectacular views. (On clear days, you can see all the way to the North Island.) Extremely remote and accessible only via a 2+km windy hilly dirt road in relatively poor condition. (Be sure to print out and take with you a copy of the map on the website--you'll need it.) While fairly distant from the center of Blenheim, it is close to the vineyards, most of which offer free wine tastings.

It is wheelchair accessible, but really not really handicap friendly, as it lacks handrails by the toilet or in the shower.

Excellent free internet service. The rooms or decorated in a very modern style that I liked, but that my spouse thought was sparse and cold. The room lacked a luggage rack and coffee maker.

The hosts, Peter and Margaret, are very hospitable and the breakfast was great.

Try it, if you want something truly different and you enjoy looking at cows, sheep, and a great view.
