Looking back this was a close to heaven as we could get. During a month long stay in NZ (3 weeks south/1 north) we had 2 days scheduled at the Straw Lodge. Straw Lodge is an excellent find and a great place to stay and use as a base for exploring the Marlborough Vineyard region. It's pretty unique in so much that it's a boutique working vineyard and the accommodation is made from straw (apparently the penny doesn't drop with all visitors :-) You're literally surrounded by the vines so you really... more
