We stayed in the Stables at St Leonards Cottages. It was a lovely place in a really beautiful and idyllic area. Our view included a flock of sheep, which seemed to like eating the lemons that fell from the lemon trees, some young deer and chickens. As one might expect, the animals were loud at times but not during our... more

My husband and I spent 3 nights in April at St. Leonards. We chose the smallest unit, and felt right at home. The location is perfect. It was easy to get around both to downtown and the wineries. I had emailed the owners that we would be arriving at 9am after a 30 hour journey. They said it would not... more

I was so looking forward to this and had, infact planned our 14 day tour of the south island around this particular accommodation. I suppose we didnt start off on the right foot when we turned up at 1.00pm to be turned away to be told that check-in time was 3.00pm. I dont think the owner meant to be rude... more

The most relaxing and wonderful B&B I have ever stayed at. The hosts are wonderful and the property is very well managed and well thought out. The fresh orange juice in the fridge is a nice touch and the 'cottage=feel' of the rooms is wonderful. We arrived late afternoon and spent our fist night in the "old dairy" next to... more

My husband, son and I stayed here, in the woolshed, as our first stop in New Zealand. We decided on the woolshed to get a little extra space so that my son could recover his jet lag in a separate room from ours. We received such a lovely warm welcome when we arrived, Paul and Daphne made us feel at... more

A very welcoming and delightful place to stay. We were here for three nights in The Cottage. Although slightly dated it was comfortable and in a lovely position overlooking the next door vineyard. The owners were very helpful fixing a trip to vineyards for us and a river trip the following day. The grounds were lovely and the pool -... more

Great place to stay. Hosts were excellent and very nice. They even lent us some mountain bikes to ride around to the vineyards. Mountain biking and wine tasting is a very good time. We stayed in the cottage which was very spacious and comfortable. more

We stayed in the stables for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We were in a lovely secluded little spot - no one drives past you as it is at the end of the driveway, so if you want somewhere nice and private, this is the best choice. There was a lovely garden and trees surrounding the little... more

We stayed in the Stables for one night. Our unique privately situated accommodation is in an idyllic setting. Our backyard overlooked the vineyards and mountains in the distance. There were sheep and chicken's roaming the grounds. The pool is nice but we did not take advantage of it. For dinner, we opted to cook appetizer style dishes on the BBQ... more

We spent two nights at St. Leonards in the annex, the smallest of their accommodation. It was perfectly located for a wine tour and visit to the local farmer market. We had everything we needed as an independent couple of travelers: comfortable bed, clean bathroom, parking, kitchenette, property to explore. The owners were friendly, and provided fresh eggs for our... more
