We spent a perfectly pleasant week in Christchurch with plenty to explore, historic sights, hills offering fantastic views over Christchurch, good beaches to relax on, and good food. We like staying somewhere outside the city center this hostel fitted the bill perfectly. It is 20 minute by foot from the buzz in the city center but has two cozy cafés... More

This was a recommendation from travellers we met on our trip. It's an independent travelers' favorite and we were lucky to find this hoste land to be able to stary. We recommend to book in advance. Bathrooms are plentiful and very clean. The shaded garden lures you into a world with it's own charm, where you can relax with a... More

This place was a great find: kind and welcoming staff, a lovely big doofa dog and the hostel was well presented with a good setup and well organised. A gang of cleaners turn up polishing the place every morning, and it shows! The guest house was freshly painted in bright colours. They made the beds and furniture in their own... More

I am compelled to tell my story about the resident dog who got some bas press from the last reviewer. I am not a dog lover and at first I was a little cautious, as he is a large dog. I watched him play with other guests, always being excited about meeting and playing with people. He just loves playing... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in a private room and was very happy with my choice. The room was warm, nicely decorated, had a very comfortable bed and everything war really clean. You get a free wifi voucher every day. Luckily this is not a party place and I enjoyed meeting other travellers and the relaxed social atmosphere. Everyone is... More

I don't see how anyone could say anything bad about this place because we have travelled all over New Zealand the last few months and this hostel... More

Probably another unlucky experience...but what if the first welcome you get is: you still have to pay, if you pay with credit card is 3$ charge, and moreover you pay 20$ more for the key baceuse if you leave early (before 9,00 a.m.!) it's a guarantee for us (be careful: it means you lose your 20$ even if you leave... My favorite hostel in the world. I was very impressed with the detail these guys put into their hostel. It is really well run with all modern comforts we need. Being a hobby chef, I loved the kitchen with all the pots and pans hanging up and the fact that they had sharp knives (a rare find in a hostel).... More
