The way this place is designed is weird. After parking our car, we hadto use the Quest lift to get to our floor, then hadto come through the cleaners entrance to enter the hotel... We stayed here on our first night in NZ. The hotel is in a really good spot in the centre of town. Rooms are pretty basic but clean, free internet is great. Our room was pretty small and was apparently one of the bigger ones so I can't imagine how tiny the standard rooms are. Service was a bit lacking... more

Nice modern rooms with all the amenities you'd expect, plus some you wouldn't. High speed internet access is free to all rooms, both wireless and wired. This is a great variation to the predicatably Hotel experience. The location is fantastic - a stone's throw from the Cathedral, and the room - although small was comfortable (We had 2 double beds in ours) Loved the access to Seasons for beakfast and Octagon for dinner, as Off the Square guests! We booked this through the Accor web site as a 4.5 star hotel and paid for a premium room. What a dump! When we enetred our "premium room" my partner said "if it had bunk beds it would be a back packer's" and he was so right!
